WHAT YOU GET

Built around how your business works

  • Phased roadmap from concept to market-testable MVP, designed to reduce risk and capital burn.
  • Product discovery workshops upfront ensure your learning platform solves real school or student problems before full development.
  • Nearshore delivery from UK, Spain, and Ukraine keeps costs reasonable while maintaining quality and timezone overlap.
  • Build only what's needed for your initial user cohort, then iterate based on feedback without technical debt.
  • Founders stay involved at every sprint checkpoint, not just handoff meetings.

Education software must work for multiple stakeholders: teachers, students, administrators, sometimes parents. An MVP that ignores this complexity risks launching a tool that nobody actually adopts. We start with product discovery interviews across your target users. This isn't guesswork. We map user workflows, identify the one or two core features that solve the biggest friction point, and build against that. Your MVP becomes a conversation starter with real educators, not a feature wish list.

01

Why EdTech MVPs Need a Different Approach

02

From Idea to Learning Platform in Phases

A phased roadmap means you hit product market fit faster and with less cash. Phase one is your MVP: authentication, core learning delivery or admin function, basic reporting. Phase two adds integrations (single sign-on, LMS connectors, assessment tools). Phase three scales the platform based on what your pilot schools or students actually use. You validate assumptions cheaply before investing in scalability. Most EdTech founders we work with move to their second cohort within three to six months of launch, which tells you the approach works.

Technical Decisions That Matter for Schools

EdTech platforms live in sensitive environments. Schools need reliability, data protection compliance (GDPR, UK DfE standards), and integrations with existing systems. We build MVPs with these constraints in mind from day one, not as afterthoughts. Your platform will handle role-based access (teacher vs. student vs. admin), support basic reporting, and store student data securely. We don't overengineer at the MVP stage, but we don't ignore the fundamentals either. This balance keeps you moving fast while staying credible with your first users.

LOCAL INSIGHT

Working with businesses in the UK

Education software in the UK faces unique pressures: schools have tight budgets, IT teams prefer tried-and-tested tools, and data security is non-negotiable. Startup founders building for this market need an MVP that proves the value proposition quickly while demonstrating that you understand school workflows and compliance requirements. Our experience across UK schools and European EdTech providers means we know where to invest effort in your MVP to win early trust, and where to defer to phase two. A nearshore team also helps EdTech founders extend runway by keeping development costs realistic without sacrificing quality.

We scope the project, define milestones and deliverables, then research your market, wireframe the UX and prototype the UI so the direction is agreed before a line of code.

  3. 03

    Build

We assemble your dedicated team, establish reporting and work in iterative Scrum sprints, delivering a working MVP or proof of concept you can test with real users.

  4. 04

    Launch & support

We ship, sign off, and keep your product current through our support service or a permanent extended team as your business evolves.

FAQ

Questions we hear most often

Still unsure how this would work for your business?

How long does it take to build an education MVP from scratch?

Typically 8 to 14 weeks depending on scope. A core MVP for a learning platform or school admin tool takes about 12 weeks: two weeks for product discovery and technical planning, six to eight weeks for development, and two to three weeks for pilot feedback and tweaks. This assumes you know your core user and can commit to weekly checkpoints with us. Founders who are still exploring their target market often need an extra week or two in discovery.

What if we're not sure which features to include in the MVP?

Product discovery is where we start. We run structured interviews with your target users (teachers, principals, or students depending on your focus), map their workflows, and identify the single biggest pain point you can solve. That becomes your MVP scope. We then validate this with you and sketch out what phases two and three look like. This prevents over-building and keeps your MVP focused on traction, not feature completeness.

Do you handle data security and compliance for student data?

Yes. Our MVPs are architected with UK data protection in mind from the start. We implement role-based access control, encryption for sensitive data, audit logging, and GDPR-aligned data handling. We don't wait until launch to bolt on security. That said, compliance sign-off (like DfE approval or school procurement sign-off) is your responsibility, not ours. We build the platform correctly so that process goes smoothly.

Can we add integrations with existing school systems in the MVP?

Simple integrations yes, complex ones typically no. If your MVP needs to sync student rosters from Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams, that's straightforward and worth including. If you need deep integration with the school's SIS or complex assessment APIs, we usually defer that to phase two unless it's genuinely core to your MVP value prop. We help you decide which integrations earn their place in the roadmap.

What happens after we launch the MVP with pilot schools?

We run a feedback loop. You gather input from your pilot users over two to four weeks, we prioritize what goes into phase two, and we move forward with another sprint. Some founders move directly into phase two with us. Others pause development and focus on sales or fundraising. We structure the MVP and codebase so either path is viable. You're not locked into continuous development after launch.

Why work with a nearshore team for an EdTech MVP instead of hiring in-house?

Capital efficiency. Hiring a senior engineer in the UK costs 60k+ annually plus overhead. A nearshore team from our UK, Spain, and Ukraine centres costs a fraction of that for the same output and quality, and you can scale up or down as your MVP evolves. You also get a structured delivery process and security standards built in, not guesswork. Most EdTech founders we work with use the saved runway to extend their pilot, improve their pitch, or fund their first proper sales hire.
