WHAT YOU GET

Built around how your business works

  • De-risk your build with structured discovery workshops before committing significant budget
  • Define architecture and tech stack decisions specific to booking, guest operations, and revenue management
  • Identify hidden complexity in integrations (payment gateways, channel managers, PMS systems)
  • Establish a clear roadmap that separates MVP scope from future feature phases
  • Work with a team that understands hospitality software requirements, not generic B2B apps

Booking systems and guest experience platforms carry real operational stakes. A flawed architecture choice early on ripples through guest workflows, payment processing, and multi-property management. Many hospitality businesses start without mapping integration points (channel managers, payment processors, property management systems), leading to costly rework mid-build. Our discovery workshops treat these dependencies as first-class concerns. We map your current systems, identify where friction exists, and propose an architecture that supports both your immediate needs and planned growth. For founders and CTOs, this clarity transforms vague requirements into a realistic roadmap and honest cost estimate.

01

Why Hospitality Software Needs Proper Discovery

02

What Gets Defined in Discovery

A technical discovery workshop covers user journeys (guest booking, staff check-in, housekeeping workflows), data flows (reservation to billing to reporting), and system integrations. For hospitality, we specifically examine booking engine complexity, payment flow security, multi-property or multi-location logic, and reporting needs. You'll leave with documented scope (what's built first, what's phased), architecture diagrams showing how components connect, technology choices justified for your constraints, and a realistic timeline and resource estimate. This document becomes your true brief and protects both parties when development begins.

Who Leads Discovery and How It Works

Our process pairs your product and technical leadership with our architects and senior engineers. We run structured workshops over 2-4 weeks, combining interviews, whiteboarding sessions, and written specification. We ask the hard questions: Why are you building this versus buying? What if guest volumes spike? How do you handle refunds and cancellations at scale? What's your real launch date? We document assumptions, flag risks, and propose mitigations. The output is a technical specification and roadmap that both your team and our developers reference throughout the build. This approach reduces misalignment and scope creep.

LOCAL INSIGHT

Working with businesses in the UK

UK hospitality businesses face specific operational complexity: multi-property management, seasonal demand spikes, integration with established payment and booking platforms, and regulatory requirements around data and transactions. A discovery workshop ensures your software development plan accounts for these realities upfront. Rather than starting code and discovering integration problems three months in, structured discovery identifies blockers early, clarifies whether existing systems can be extended or replaced, and confirms your tech stack handles real guest volumes and property counts.

OUR PROVEN PROCESS

From first call to ongoing support

Our process has guided startups, scaleups and enterprises from concept to reality, and continues after launch.

  1. 01

    Discovery

A free 30-minute consultation followed by a stakeholder workshop, where we listen to your challenges, validate assumptions and build an outside-in view of your situation.

  2. 02

    Plan & design

We scope the project, define milestones and deliverables, then research your market, wireframe the UX and prototype the UI so the direction is agreed before a line of code.

  3. 03

    Build

We assemble your dedicated team, establish reporting and work in iterative Scrum sprints, delivering a working MVP or proof of concept you can test with real users.

  4. 04

    Launch & support

We ship, sign off, and keep your product current through our support service or a permanent extended team as your business evolves.

If you need to build an IT team from zero or need staff augmentation, we can build the team you need — developers, designers, analysts and even fractional CTOs.

FAQ

Questions we hear most often

Still unsure how this would work for your business?

How long does a discovery workshop typically take?

A full technical discovery workshop takes 2-4 weeks, depending on the complexity of your existing systems and the scope of what you're building. We conduct stakeholder interviews, run whiteboarding sessions, document assumptions, and produce a written specification and roadmap. For simpler projects, discovery can be compressed into two weeks. For multi-property systems with heavy integration requirements, four weeks is more realistic.

What if we're not sure what we want to build yet?

That's exactly the right time to run discovery. Many founders and product owners know the business problem (guests can't book easily, staff workflows are chaotic) but lack clarity on the software solution. Discovery helps you move from problem statement to concrete requirements. We ask what's driving the decision, what success looks like, and what constraints matter most. This process often reveals that a smaller, cheaper MVP solves your immediate need better than a full platform.

Who should be involved from our side in discovery workshops?

Bring your product owner, CTO or technical lead, and at least one person who understands your operations deeply (a general manager, revenue manager, or head of guest experience). These stakeholders see different angles of the problem and catch assumptions the others might miss. You don't need to involve the entire team; focused decision-makers move faster.

What happens if discovery reveals our idea isn't feasible?

That's a win for discovery. Better to learn early that your multi-property booking engine needs a different architecture than you expected, or that integration with your PMS is more expensive than anticipated. We'll tell you straight if scope is unrealistic for your budget or timeline. We then help you prioritize: what's truly essential for launch, what can wait, what might be better solved with existing tools. This honesty protects both your budget and our credibility.

Can discovery help us evaluate whether to build or buy?

Yes. Part of discovery is mapping your problem against the market. If a booking engine already exists that solves 80% of your needs, we say so. If your requirements are specific enough that custom software makes sense, we explain why. We're not biased toward building; we're biased toward solving your problem efficiently. Sometimes that means recommending a SaaS product plus a small custom integration layer rather than a full build.

How do we move from discovery into actual development?

The discovery output becomes your development brief. We present findings, sign off on assumptions, and agree on a roadmap. If you choose to work with us for development, we can start immediately using the specification we've created together. If you'd rather take the spec to another team, that's fine too. Either way, you have a solid foundation for building.
