Build a market-testable MVP with Evolved Ideas in Glasgow. Product discovery, phased roadmap, pivot-ready platform for startup founders and tech entrepreneurs.
Most MVP projects stumble because they skip discovery. Teams jump straight to code, build features nobody asked for, and burn runway. We start with your market, your users, and the riskiest assumptions first. Product discovery means talking to potential customers, stress-testing your core value proposition, and identifying which features actually matter for a pivot-ready product. Only then do we scope engineering work. This approach keeps your spend focused and your MVP laser-sharp.
Your first release is lean: core workflows only, no gold plating. Once users are testing it, we gather real feedback and plan the next phase. This staged approach lets you raise investment, attract early customers, or prove the concept before committing to a full platform build. Each phase is documented, tested, and ready to hand off or scale. You see results in weeks, not quarters, and you control the pivot points.

Phased Delivery: From MVP to Sustainable Platform

Nearshore Support Built Into Your MVP
After launch, your MVP needs monitoring, bug fixes, and small feature additions. We staff support from our UK, Spain, and Ukraine centres, so you get 24-hour coverage without the overhead of hiring full-time engineers. Your codebase stays clean and maintainable because the same team that built it handles production support. Costs stay predictable on a retainer model; you scale capacity up or down as demand shifts.

CASE STUDIES
How we've transformed enterprises, SMEs and startups
Founded in 2007 as a dedicated IT consultancy, Evolved Ideas has grown into a team of over 100 professionals, with a head office in Leicester and development hubs in Eastern Europe and Spain.
Glasgow is Scotland's largest city and a key business centre for the West of Scotland. The city hosts a growing startup ecosystem and scale-up community, with founders and tech entrepreneurs building products across fintech, logistics, health tech, and digital services. For Glasgow-based startup founders, proximity matters: working with a team that understands UK regulation, Scottish business culture, and the pace of early-stage funding is a real advantage. Evolved Ideas brings product discovery discipline and phased delivery that fits the founder's timeline and cash position, while the nearshore model keeps costs predictable at a stage when every pound counts toward runway.
Our process has guided startups, scaleups and enterprises from concept to reality, and continues after launch.
01
Discovery
A free 30-minute consultation followed by a stakeholder workshop, where we listen to your challenges, validate assumptions and build an outside-in view of your situation.
02
Plan & design
We scope the project, define milestones and deliverables, then research your market, wireframe the UX and prototype the UI so the direction is agreed before a line of code.
03
Build
We assemble your dedicated team, establish reporting and work in iterative Scrum sprints, delivering a working MVP or proof of concept you can test with real users.
04
Launch & support
We ship, sign off, and keep your product current through our support service or a permanent extended team as your business evolves.
Technology is more than just code — it's a tool for solving real business challenges. Whichever route fits your stage, the same team delivers it.
Bespoke Software
With your long-term goals in mind, we help you choose the technology you need and develop a tech roadmap based on industry trends, emerging tech and your business requirements.
We have years of experience building proof of concepts and MVPs. We will take you from testing viability to building an MVP to validate your hypotheses.
Tier 1 customer support, Tier 2 technical support and Tier 3 development support for applications and legacy software, delivered by our engineering teams.
If you need to build an IT team from zero or need staff augmentation, we can build the team you need — developers, designers, analysts and even fractional CTOs.
How do you validate an MVP idea before we invest months in build?
We run product discovery workshops with you and your target users. This includes customer interviews, competitive research, and technical feasibility checks. We map the core workflows, identify the riskiest assumptions, and create a one-page value proposition. If the market signals are weak, you'll know before engineering starts. If they're strong, we hand you a product brief that engineers can build against with confidence.
What's included in the first MVP release?
The MVP covers your core value proposition only. If you're a marketplace, that's matching and transactions. If you're a SaaS tool, it's the essential workflow. We exclude nice-to-haves, admin dashboards, and complex reporting. The MVP is rough but real. Users can complete their job and give you feedback. Extras go into phase two.
Can we change the plan if user feedback points a different way?
Yes. That's the whole point of phased delivery. After your first release, you talk to users, gather data, and decide the next priority. Our roadmap is a living document, not a fixed contract. If you learn that your original feature roadmap misses the mark, we pivot. The phased model means you're not locked into a 12-month build; you course-correct based on real feedback.
Who owns the code and IP after launch?
You do. The codebase is yours. We hand over source code, documentation, and deployment guides. You can hire another team to maintain it, bring it in-house, or keep us on retainer. There are no licensing fees, no vendor lock-in, and no restrictions on how you use or modify the code. We stay involved if you want ongoing support, but the decision is yours.
How much does MVP development typically cost?
Cost depends on the scope and timeline you choose. A simple MVP might take 8-12 weeks; a more complex one, 16-20. We don't compete on price; we compete on speed, quality, and clarity. Early in discovery, we give you transparent estimates and phase costs so you can make an informed go/no-go decision. We also discuss nearshore options to stretch your budget without cutting corners on quality.
What happens if the MVP doesn't gain traction?
You have a working product, clean code, and real user data. If the market signal is weak, you pivot or sunset the product without sunk losses in a legacy codebase. If traction is strong, you're positioned to raise investment or reinvest profits into phase two. Either way, you own the learning and the codebase. That's the design.
